The movie was announced in August 2013, with Kane set to reprise his role as the murderous Jacob Goodnight and the Soska sisters to direct.[4] The Soskas claimed their desire in taking on the film was to \"take the character [Jacob Goodnight] and bring him to the level of Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees.\"[5]
Ryan Larson, writing for ComingSoon.net, gave the film an average rating saying \"While some of the movie is enjoyable due to standard gore splashed slasher fare, for the most part you can't help but think 'haven't I seen this already'\"[18]
Kane's Jacob Goodnight became a cult horror slasher following the original movie, but will WWE ever make a See No Evil 3 Given the popularity of WWE and many of its wrestlers, it only made sense the brand would expand to movies like See No Evil too. That said, while many wrestlers have charisma to burn in the ring, that doesn't always translate to acting talent. Roddy Piper may have done an impressive job with They Live and Dwayne \"The Rock\" Johnson eventually became one of the world's biggest movie stars, but many other wrestlers didn't quite make the leap to big-screen stardom.
WWE Studio's movie output has been a mixed bag overall, so for every hit like The Scorpion King or the John Cena-fronted The Marine - which has received five STV sequels - there are lots of duds too, including Colin Farrell thriller Dead Man Down. WWE tried to mount its own slasher series with See No Evil, which cast wrestling legend Glenn Jacobs - AKA Kane - as Jacob Goodnight. This enjoyably over-the-top effort saw Goodnight stalk a group of people through an abandoned hotel, with the killer's motif being ripping out his victims' eyes.
Since the release of the second movie, there's been little to no word on See No Evil 3. The franchise hasn't been particularly profitable, Jacobs is focused on his political career and there are no real, lingering questions left to answer about Jacob Goodnight. The first two movies were a wild attempt to create a new slasher icon, but it currently looks doubtful Jacob Goodnight will return for See No Evil 3.
It's pronounced Paw-rick, not Pad-raig. Now that's out of the way, a brief introduction. Padraig has been writing about film online since 2012, when a friend asked if he'd like to contribute the occasional review or feature to their site. A part-time hobby soon blossomed into a career when he discovered he really loved writing about movies, TV and video games; he even (arguably) had a little bit of talent for it. He has written words for Den of Geek, Collider, The Irish Times and Screen Rant over the years, and can discuss anything from the MCU - where Hawkeye is clearly the best character - to the most obscure cult b-movie gem, and his hot takes often require heat resistant gloves to handle. He's super modern too, so his favorite movies include Jaws, Die Hard, The Thing, Ghostbusters and Batman.
Wally Karue (Richard Pryor) is blind and he doesn't like it. Dave Lyons (Gene Wilder) is deaf, and runs a newspaper stand. Wally gets a job from Dave, and quickly becomes fast friends. One day, a man comes in. After an argument with Eve (Joan Severance), she kills him. Both Wally and Dave only partly witness the incident. The incompetent police arrests the duo but then they escape. Eve and Kirgo (Kevin Spacey) are after the duo for a valuable coin.Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder are always fun together. The gimmick allows the guys to have some hilarious back and forth. The mug shot scene was gut busting funny. While the joking around is funny, the caper doesn't work as well. In the end, the movie works as an excuse for the guys to go crazy. 153554b96e
