However, Adobe Illustrator can be recovered in such a way without having to change anything in the saved document. In the following pictures, we explain how to recover your document after a very strange crash:
First, let's create some training files, so we have around five or six copy files. After that, we start Illustrator. No problem, everything works well. Illustrator can mean multiple documents at one time. Most of the time, a new document will open with the same name, but with a number in front of it, like File: 72143.ai
The 70 preceding the document number is not used by Illustrator and has nothing to do with the recovery process. Now, we take a peak at the files that are on the disc drive and find File: 72142.ai and File: 72144.ai.
After opening a document and saving it save, Illustrator warns us to be careful with big files because it's difficult to load them again. In the settings panel, Illustrator recognizes the two documents as belonging to the same folder, and the files are very similar. As a usual rule, we also have a group of the same name for documents that share some information or can appear together. But just at this moment, we have no such group, the two documents lie in the same folder.
When we open the document 72143.ai in Illustrator, we notice that the content is different. But everything is ok again, no crash. 72144.ai is also opened with no problem.
Now, if you decide to create a new file in the application, you will notice that you now can't see the file. Instead, you see a message about the difficulties in the recovery with a solution; Tell them about it.
